Travel is the only class I never skip

It's my continuing education

Every trip makes me want the next one more.

Not a craving for rest. A craving to feel lost again.

Lost like standing in a grocery store where I can't read one label. Holding something that might be yogurt. Might be soup. No way to know until I open it.

That feeling is the whole reason I go.

A resort is your couch with better weather. The buffet has chicken fingers. The floor never moves.

That's a vacation. Not travel.

My favorite moment is a menu I can't read. I point. I wait. I find out. Sometimes it's incredible. Sometimes it's organ meat. Either way, I learned something.

And learning is the addiction.

I grew up one way. It was good. I thought good meant the only way.

Then I started leaving. Dinner at 10pm. Whole towns that close to rest. People with less stuff and less stress.

Every place teaches the same lesson. Your way is just one way.

I can't stop signing up for the next class.
